Scientific and proper maintenance of the kiln is one of the key factors affecting the service life of refractory materials for flat ceilings. Standardize safe production and conduct professional maintenance to ensure the long-term and stable operation of tunnel kilns.   1. The sintering process of the tunnel kiln shall comply with its working principles. Strictly control three core parameters including temperature, atmosphere and pressure in the preheating zone, firing zone and cooling zone. These factors exert a crucial impact on the service of all-ceramic fiber kilns, and pressure control serves as the guarantee for stable temperature and atmosphere regulation.
  2. On-site staff shall operate in strict accordance with the sintering process and on-site regulations. Skilled operators are required for tunnel kiln firing. Brick and tile enterprises shall organize regular training for employees to learn about ceramic fiber insulation, as well as the firing process, operating principles and daily maintenance precautions of tunnel kilns.

  3. Perform regular inspections on the tunnel kiln, generally once a year, to check for parts requiring replacement or repair. Ceramic fiber insulation materials allow easy replacement and repairing, yet regular inspection is still necessary.
  4. For the maintenance of surface curing agent, Aladdin high-temperature protective coating is recommended.
  5. Avoid physical impact on the ceramic fiber flat ceiling, which may damage the fiber surface and reduce thermal insulation performance. During kiln operation, walking directly on the fiber surface is strictly prohibited.
  6. Never operate the tunnel kiln beyond the rated temperature. Excessive temperature will exceed the maximum service temperature of insulation materials, shorten service life, increase energy consumption and reduce production output.
  7. Ensure normal operation of fans. In case of sudden power failure, fans will stop running, causing backfire inside the kiln and a sharp rise in ceiling temperature, which will damage the ceiling fiber materials. Equipping power generation equipment can effectively prevent such problems.

  8. Take waterproofing measures. A roof must be constructed during the kiln plant construction. During operation, keep the kiln well maintained to prevent water leakage from the top in rainy seasons.
  9. The ceramic fiber lining shall be protected against corrosion by hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkalis. The lining features excellent chemical stability. It resists erosion from common acids, alkalis, water, oil and steam, except for hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkalis.
  10. The flue gas flow velocity inside the tunnel kiln shall not exceed 20 m/s.
