Ceramic fiber modules are a kind of thermal insulation material with ideal heat preservation performance and cost efficiency. Thanks to their high cost-performance ratio, they have become the preferred insulation choice for a wide range of industrial furnaces and electric heating equipment. Proper installation enables ceramic fiber modules to deliver long-term service and energy saving in furnaces. Today, Aladdin will take you through the detailed installation steps of ceramic fiber modules.
01 Steel Plate Cleaning
Before installing ceramic fiber modules, clean the steel plates and furnace walls to be installed. Rusty steel plates shall be treated for rust removal.
02 Layout Marking
Perform layout marking strictly in accordance with the construction design drawings. Take the center point of the module as the reference, mark lines toward both sides and position of bolts. Keep the position deviation of the last row of screw rods to a minimum.
03 Anchor Welding

04 Installation of Lining Blanket
Before installing ceramic fiber modules, lay the lining blanket in advance. The common thickness of the lining blanket is 30–50 mm. During installation, compress the ceramic fiber blanket to the required thickness. Lay the blankets with staggered joints (the stagger amount shall not be less than the drawing requirement), and fasten them tightly with rapid clips to prevent rebound.
05 Module Installation
Take out the ceramic fiber module → screw the guide rod onto the small end of the bolt → pass the ceramic fiber module through the guide rod via the central hole and attach it closely to the furnace wall → tighten the nut onto the bolt with a special wrench → unscrew the guide rod → install the remaining ceramic fiber modules in sequence.
It should be noted that the modules shall be installed following the principle of furnace roof first, then furnace wall, and from bottom to top.
After installing each row of modules, lay compensation blankets on the cut surfaces of the modules (two layers of 20 mm blankets compressed to 25 mm thickness), and fix them to the installed modules with U-shaped staples.
06 Module Surface Trimming
After the installation of ceramic fiber modules, flatten the module surfaces with wooden boards to ensure compact compaction. Fill all large gaps tightly with compensation blankets.
07 Curing Agent Spraying
After the insulation lining is fully installed, spray a layer of curing agent on the module surface. This extends the service life of the thermal insulation materials and improves their resistance to wind erosion and air flow scouring. The recommended dosage is about 1.5kg per square meter.
